3 plays.....some chairs....someone's set
Just the Bare Bones.
Bare Bones Nights was set up to provide a platform for exciting and emerging directors and playwrights to develop new work in partnership. At each Bare Bones Night three directors and writers present a fully staged 20 minute piece, either extracts of a longer play they are working on or a full piece in itself.
Since its first night in January 2010 the night has been a successful launching pad for many writers, directors and actors who have since found recognition and more importantly work as a direct result of taking part. Recent writers and directors who have taken part include Jack Thorne, Joy Wilkinson, Adam Barnard, Karis Halsall, Ned Glasier, Mel Hillyard, Laura Farnworth among others.
The Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington, London has been host to some of the UK's most exciting theatrical talent since its opening in 1979. It won the Dan Crawford Pub Theatre Award in 2006 at the Peter Brook Empty Space Awards and is regarded highly as an enduring fringe venue on the London theatre scene.
